Our 10th Anniversary, Thursday, December 13th, 2007

The View from the room

All I can say is WOW! Preston and I had chatted about our upcoming 10th - when he finally said that he would "take care of it". For me - that was a bit of a challenge to let go of control - but I was also looking forward to being surprised.
A week before, Preston casually asked me if I had a "nice" dress that I would be able to wear. I mentioned a couple and he again ever so casually said that he was thinking something more along the lines of ball gownish... which I do not have. So we took a trip to the mall & we were in Emporio Bridal for about 20 seconds when he spotted "the dress". That evening I asked him if we were going to be 'flying somewhere" and he also responded easily with a 'no".
So, Thursday arrives, Kathy comes to pick up Max at around 6:30am and after she leaves - Preston comes walking down the hallway with my dress and petticoat from the Durango(I had been told we were driving somewhere) He then says -well we have to put this in a suitcase because we are flying somewhere(of course I had been telling people we weren't). The day became a complete fairytale - we flew to Las Vegas, Stayed in the Prima Suite at the Venetian, we then got ready went downstairs to be greeted by a long stretch silver limo to go to Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel - at which point I am feeling completely overwhelmed by his planning. In the limo he confides to me his "last" 2 surprises are that we will be eating at Delmonico's(an Emeril restaurant at the Venetian) then we will see their production of Phantom of the Opera. I simply could not believe it..... BUT that was not all. Elvis was fabulous and I of course was crying - then when the exchange of the rings came - Preston whispered to me - "this is my last surprise" he pulled out the most stunning ring I have ever seen - I think I would have fainted if my dress were not holding me up.
Thank-you to everyone who has heard this story - here are some pictures of the amazing day.
